UK TV channel ITV1 is getting into the festive spirit with an
attempt in London on Sunday to set a new Guinness World Record for
the largest gathering of people dressed as Santa Claus'.
The channel is looking for over 13,000 participants to get dressed
up as Father Christmas and head to the KIA Oval Cricket Ground in
North London for 11am.
To join in the fun everyone will need to have a full Santa Claus
costume fitting the record guidelines of a white fake beard, red
Santa hat with white trim, red jacket with white trim, red
trousers, and black belt.
As an extra bit of fun, everyone will be invited to sing the
chorus to the classic Christmas song Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
and perform a simple dance routine choreographed by Ashley Banjo
from dance troupe Diversity.
The attempt is set to form part of ITV1's Text Santa Christmas
charity show which is set to air in early December.
The shows will spotlight the work of charities around the UK
and encourage viewers to donate to them by text.
